Storage Mounting
was one of my various tasks throughout the duration of my time at the Cincinnati Art Museum as an installation intern.
In order to ensure that priceless objects were well protected while in storage. Creating a storage mount requires an analysis of the object that is in need of support; this includes understanding the history, materials, and any weak points of the object.
By using a variety of archival friendly materials, the final storage mount would be tailored specifically to the object that it is intended to support. A strong knowledge of material interactions, structural integrity, and careful hands were all pivotal requirements for this task.
